Rape charges, Brisbane southside

 Police have charged a man who allegedly sexually assaulted three women whilst employed as a sonographer at a Brisbane medical facility. It will be alleged that between August 2018 and June 2020, the 58-year-old man performed examinations on three women who subsequently made complaints about his conduct during the appointments at a hospital in Brisbane’s southside. Ongoing investigations by Dutton Park detectives determined the man’s actions were outside the parameters of normal scan procedures. Conspiracy-tinged protests send Queensland Parliament into lockdown

 Queensland Parliament was sent into lockdown on Tuesday as a group of protesters gathered outside, and at other administrative buildings across Australia, as part of conspiracy-tinged demonstrations against government COVID-19 measures. The Gold Coast council building was also in locked down for a portion of the day, with mostly silent groups reported to have gathered at council buildings in Bundaberg, Maryborough and Gympie. Mujeeb Ur Rahman re-signs with Brisbane Heat for BBL 11

 Mujeeb Ur Rahman will once again turn out for Brisbane Heat in the 2021-22 Big Bash League, the franchise confirmed on Tuesday (August 31). Mujeeb, who has already played thrice for the franchise, is currently ranked fifth in the T20I rankings among bowlers. The 20-year-old was named Heat's player of the year in his very first season in the BBL and went on to pick up his first five-fer in T20 cricket last year in the tournament against Hobart Hurricanes.  A child psychologist has warned south-east Queensland schools to break down the stigma surrounding COVID-19 infections amid reports of children being bullied after contracting the virus earlier this month. Queensland records two new cases of COVID-19, as distribution workers prioritised for vaccines

 Queensland authorities have warned it will only be a matter of time before COVID-19 spreads over the border from New South Wales, as the state records two new cases in quarantine. One is linked to the Indooroopilly cluster and was in home quarantine, while the second is an overseas traveller who was in hotel quarantine. Family of Brisbane man Daniel Muller missing for five days make desperate plea for public help

 The wife of Brisbane father of two Daniel Muller, who has been missing since last week, has made an emotional plea for answers. Mr Muller was last seen about 6:00pm on Thursday, August 12 walking in the vicinity of Bowen Bridge Road, Herston. An extensive search and rescue operation was carried out over the weekend to try to find the 33-year-old. Man, woman airlifted to hospital in critical condition after major bus crash near Brisbane

 A man and a woman have been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after being trapped inside their vehicles when a mini bus and car collided south of Brisbane. Paramedics were called to the scene about 10:15am after the bus collided with a Mazda on Mundoolun Road near Logan. Queensland Ambulance Service said it has treated 24 patients at the scene and transported 19 of them to hospital. Qld detects new case but no timeline set for end of lockdowns

 Queensland has recorded one new local case of COVID-19, in what Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk described as “excellent news”. But the Premier would not confirm on Tuesday whether lockdowns would be phased out once 80 per cent of the population was fully vaccinated. The case revealed on Tuesday morning was part of the Indooroopilly Delta cluster and was detected in home quarantine. “We’re absolutely, really happy with that result,” Ms Palaszczuk said. There was also a case recorded in hotel quarantine overnight.
