Man, woman airlifted to hospital in critical condition after major bus crash near Brisbane

 A man and a woman have been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after being trapped inside their vehicles when a mini bus and car collided south of Brisbane.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 10:15am after the bus collided with a Mazda on Mundoolun Road near Logan.

Queensland Ambulance Service said it has treated 24 patients at the scene and transported 19 of them to hospital.

 Commuters, cyclists and pedestrians have found rare common ground as they battle delays and difficult transport routes caused by the temporary closure of a key southside thoroughfare in Brisbane. Work on upgrading and extending the Buranda busway station to allow for the new Brisbane Metro has begun but meant Brisbane City Council has closed the eastbound lanes on busy O'Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street. A detour is in place via Carl Street, Cornwall Street, Logan Road and Montague Street and the westbound lanes on O'Keefe Street between Gillingham Street and Carl Street were also reduced to a single lane.
