Brisbane Broncos beat Warriors 24-22 after Roosters thump Dragons 40-22 to reach NRL top four

 Brisbane has held on for a tight 24-22 win over the Warriors, with the departing Anthony Milford leading the Broncos to the sort of victory that was almost unimaginable for the team earlier in the season.

The Warriors, meanwhile, are a game outside the finals with two rounds left with a -113 points differential, making a top-eight finish unlikely.

Earlier on Sunday, a James Tedesco masterclass led the Roosters to fourth spot with a 40-22 win over the Dragons.

 Commuters, cyclists and pedestrians have found rare common ground as they battle delays and difficult transport routes caused by the temporary closure of a key southside thoroughfare in Brisbane. Work on upgrading and extending the Buranda busway station to allow for the new Brisbane Metro has begun but meant Brisbane City Council has closed the eastbound lanes on busy O'Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street. A detour is in place via Carl Street, Cornwall Street, Logan Road and Montague Street and the westbound lanes on O'Keefe Street between Gillingham Street and Carl Street were also reduced to a single lane.
