Fremantle Dockers’ impending fixture shift to Brisbane is ‘right decision’, says Premier Mark McGowan

 Fremantle’s impending relocation of this weekend’s clash with Brisbane to Queensland is the “right decision,” Premier Mark McGowan has declared.

The Dockers were scheduled to host the Lions at Optus Stadium on Sunday. But Perth’s recent community transmission of COVID-19 - and the decision to lock 45,000 fans out of the Eagles-Dockers derby - threw the prospect of a crowd for the fixture into doubt.

The AFL is expected to confirm a fixture swap today, with this weekend’s game to be played at the Gabba, while the return round 21 clash will take place in Perth.
