Curtin University: One dead after roof collapses in Australia

 One man has died and two others have been injured after a building under construction collapsed at a university in Western Australia.


Emergency crews were called to Perth's Curtin University shortly before 13:00 local time (05:00 GMT) on Tuesday.


Aerial footage taken by local media showed a smashed glass roof and a large pile of rubble on the ground.


A 23-year-old man died immediately after falling more than 20 metres, authorities said.

 Commuters, cyclists and pedestrians have found rare common ground as they battle delays and difficult transport routes caused by the temporary closure of a key southside thoroughfare in Brisbane. Work on upgrading and extending the Buranda busway station to allow for the new Brisbane Metro has begun but meant Brisbane City Council has closed the eastbound lanes on busy O'Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street. A detour is in place via Carl Street, Cornwall Street, Logan Road and Montague Street and the westbound lanes on O'Keefe Street between Gillingham Street and Carl Street were also reduced to a single lane.
