Australian woman's search for answers in a forest on the other side of the world

 In a village deep within a Russian forest a private investigator knocks on the door of homes in search of a woman local police say doesn't exist.

It was February 2019 when the investigator from Moscow stepped out of a taxi on a fact-finding mission at the request of Olga*, a client, waiting for news some 12,000 kilometres away in Australia.

Surrounded by ruined prison towers, wooden barracks and abandoned houses - many missing windows and doors – the village could be mistaken for the aftermath of World War II battles.
