Councillors urge fight as Brisbane Polo Grounds eyed for depot, housing

A large-scale transport depot and future residential estate planned for the privately owned Brisbane Polo Grounds has been met with anger by past and present councillors, who have urged the public to "fight" the proposal.
In June, a development application for the transport depot on 235 Murarrie Road at Tingalpa, in the city's east, was submitted to Brisbane City Council on behalf of Queensland waste magnate Balfour Irvine, who owns the property.
