he Brisbane ex-partner of a former American beauty queen who has been missing for almost a year is expected to face court charged with her murder.

Detectives charged 43-year-old Mark Waden yesterday with one count of murder after a week-long search of a Bracken Ridge home.
An excavator and cadaver dogs were used in the search for the Priscilla Brooten, a 46-year-old US citizen.
The keen gamer and Zumba dance teacher had not been seen since July last year.


She was reportedly in a relationship with the accused before she disappeared. He did not report her missing.

 Commuters, cyclists and pedestrians have found rare common ground as they battle delays and difficult transport routes caused by the temporary closure of a key southside thoroughfare in Brisbane. Work on upgrading and extending the Buranda busway station to allow for the new Brisbane Metro has begun but meant Brisbane City Council has closed the eastbound lanes on busy O'Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street.
