New flood risk maps have been released by Brisbane City Council, removing 26,000 properties from flood risk areas and downgrading a further 25,000 properties.
Environment, parks and sustainability chair David McLachlan said new technology and modelling had enabled the council to upgrade the maps, available online, to better inform residents of the risks.
